The track to the right of it is the run-up track.
The lever teleports the player from the booster track to the run-up track. Before the fight, you sit in it and accelerate to max speed in your mechanical minecart. The small 3-block track in the main picture is the booster track. Thus, the mechanical cart skips over one track every tick. This is because mechanical cart operates at 20 pixels per tick, and 1 block is 16 pixels.
